The week began with some really crazy weather! After it snowed at church in the morning, it snowed again late in the afternoon. So, I was able to get pictures of our house and street covered in a blanket of white. Not a very thick blanket, but a blanket, nonetheless!
Our House
The Front Yard
Down the Street
The Backyard
Funny how everything looks better with snow on it!
I was actually pretty happy that we did have school on Monday. It was Dr. Seuss's birthday and that is a special day for our school and the media center. Monday actually kicked off an entire week of activities most of which include something I LOVE to do-DRESS UP!
Here is Anita, the media clerk, and me dressed in our matching Cat in the Hat shirts made by Heather Britton.
Happy Birthday, Dr. Seuss!
Tuesday was Green Eggs and Ham Day, so we all wore green. Allyson's teacher in her daycare class said she was having green eggs and ham, too. Allyson didn't have to wear green, but why not?
I love this picture with a kindergarten class at my school. The whole class wore green They all look so cute! Kindergarten is a special age to my heart.
Look at the little girl to the right. She's got a very sweet pose!
Today, my friend Heather's kids came dressed as Thing 1 and Thing 2. She's so creative; she made their outfits. We took a picture together. I am the Cat in the Hat, without whiskers and a tail, though!
Lastly, here is a picture of all the winners from Crazy Hat Day. Each teacher chose a winner for the craziest hat in each class. The winners got a free book of their choice and a picture taken that I will send to the Houston Home Journal.
After school, I heard three of the students in this picture talking excitedly with their grandmother who had helped them make winning hats. They were so excited about their prizes and having a picture made and all the fun they had all day long getting to wear a crazy hat. It was so nice to hear those excited children and know that their good time that they just might remember forever was because of me.
Notice Heather's kids were both winners in their classes.
And, at the end of the school day, I put on shorts and running shoes and walked 2 1/2 miles close to the school with our PE teacher. Yes, weird, huh? It snowed Sunday and today I had on shorts walking around outside.
